POSTURAL CONCERNS

Scoliosis:

A lateral curvature of the spine that can result from congenital, idiopathic, or neuromuscular causes. While some scoliosis cases are more structural, poor posture can exacerbate functional scoliosis. Symptoms include back pain, uneven shoulders, and hips.

Rounded Shoulders:

Shoulders that are rolled forward and down, often due to prolonged sitting or incorrect posture. This can lead to upper back and neck pain, and shoulder impingement.

Pelvic Tilt:

Anterior or posterior tilting of the pelvis due to muscle imbalances or poor posture. An anterior tilt can cause an increased lordotic curve, while a posterior tilt can flatten the lower back curve. Symptoms include lower back pain and hip discomfort.

Tech Neck (Cervical Strain):

Strain and pain in the neck resulting from looking down at screens for extended periods. This can cause neck pain, stiffness, and headaches.

Forward Head Posture:

This condition is characterized by the head being positioned forward of the shoulders, often due to prolonged use of smartphones, computers, or other electronic devices. Symptoms can include neck pain, shoulder pain, and headaches.

Kyphosis:

An exaggerated forward rounding of the upper back, often leading to a hunchback appearance. This can result from poor posture, degenerative diseases, or conditions like Scheuermann’s disease. Symptoms include back pain, stiffness, and fatigue.

Lordosis (Swayback):

An excessive inward curve of the lower back. It can be caused by obesity, poor posture, or muscle imbalances. Symptoms include lower back pain and discomfort.
